Using scripts to streamline citation analysis on STN International

Neuhaus, C., Litscher, A., & Daniel, H.-D. (2007). Using scripts to streamline citation analysis on STN International. Scientometrics, 71(1), 145-150.

The database host STN International allows for extensive citation analysis in the SCISEARCH database (Science Citation Index Expanded) and in the CAplus database (Chemical Abstracts). Along with its powerful browsing, searching and analyzing facilities, STN International also features scripts. In this paper we examine the usefulness of the script language in the automation of citation analysis in SCISEARCH and CAplus.

Why you should care about STN script commands

Wolff, T. E. (2007). Why you should care about STN script commands. Searcher, 15(8), 40-48.

The article offers information on Scientific and Technical Information Network (STN) script commands. STN script commands have been available for many years, starting with the first version of STN Express, which used script language for login scripts that accessed STN and other online database systems. Over the years, STN International has introduced other applications of script language, most notably to generate Derwent World Patents Index (WPI) strategies, as well as scripted command files from lists of accession, pidentifiers or SciFinder Answer Keys.
