Mike is a Senior Searcher in the Science IP division and a registered US patent agent (#55,473). Prior to joining CAS in 2005, he worked as an independent patent information specialist. Mike performs chemical and pharmaceutical searches in support of intellectual property and competitive intelligence related issues.
Mike has 18 years experience as a medicinal chemist at both small and large pharmaceutical companies. As a chemistry project leader, he led efforts in the discovery of three clinical candidates in global research collaborations and played a key role on in developing IP strategy.
Mike received his PhD in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Kansas. He has co-authored 20+ papers in peer-reviewed journals and is a co-inventor on over 35+ issued patents.
